Is hair transplant surgery worth it ,what kind of results can I expect?

Next month I will be getting hair transplant surgery, it will cost about $9000. I have a bald spot on the crown of my head about the size of a softball and I am 38 years old.

Hi There,

If you truly want to regrow your natural hair and have a natural looking hair line, then hair restoration surgery is your best bet. Aside from hair restoration there's only three other hair loss treatments approved by the FDA - Propecia, Minoxidil, LaserComb. Propecia is great for keeping the hair you already have, but isn't proven to regrow lost hair. Minoxidil will regrow moderate amounts of hair, but only in some cases. Finally, the laserComb is still too new to be proven effective, but who knows - it may regrow hair as well.

I had a Bosley hair restoration procedure done back in July and couldn't be happier with the results. Since receiving the procedure I have kept a blog called BattleAgainstBald.com. The blog details the results of my Bosley hair transplantation and I also provide a wealth of information on hair loss and the other methods used to correct it. I'm sure the blog will answer any questions you have.

Best of luck to you in your battle against bald and let me know if you have any questions.

-Seth
